Abstract

Blue-collar workers play an essential role across various industrial sectors and often face physically demanding working conditions that may affect their happiness at work. However, research on happiness at work has predominantly focused on white-collar workers, while studies involving blue-collar workers remain limited. This literature review aims to identify factors influencing happiness at work among blue-collar workers. Articles were retrieved from ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, Scopus, Springer Nature Link, and Frontiers using keywords related to happiness at work, blue-collar workers, and industrial workers. Thirteen primary articles were selected and analyzed. The findings identified four main themes: organizational and work environment factors, compensation and job security, social and interpersonal factors, and psychological factors. Supportive workplaces, positive leadership, good relationships, recognition, job security, and favorable psychological conditions were associated with greater happiness at work, whereas poor working conditions, high work pressure, burnout, depression, and anxiety were associated with lower happiness.
