Abstract

Cyclone Seroja severely damaged coral reef ecosystems and disrupted the socio-economic well-being of coastal communities. This study aims to analyze an integrative post-disaster recovery model based on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in driving ecosystem restoration and local socio-economic self-reliance. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis was employed, combining theoretical frameworks of the Theory of Planned Behavior, Skill Acquisition Theory, Sustainable Tourism, and Social Capital Theory. The findings indicate that integrated CSR interventions successfully bridge the dichotomy between techno-ecological and socio-economic approaches. Capacity-building training programs gradually formed active local agency, transforming subjective norms and perceived behavioral control toward conservation. Furthermore, strengthening social capital through collaborative governance among corporations, local governments, and communities optimized coral reef restoration while unlocking sustainable marine tourism opportunities. This model demonstrates that community-based post-disaster recovery via CSR not only rehabilitates marine ecosystems effectively but also fosters long-term socio-economic resilience.
